Do You Love Your Wife, or How She Makes You Feel?

By Jimmy Sliwa

  • Do you still pursue her, or have you stopped now that the “chase” is over?
  • Do you argue to find a solution, or just to prove you’re right?
  • Do you do the dishes simply to bless her, or are you seeking a compliment?
  • Do you try to understand her pain, or just want her to get over it so you can move on?
  • Do you bring her flowers to surprise her, or to get sex in return?
  • Do you stay faithful because of love, or because you’re afraid of getting caught?
  • Do you speak highly of her in front of friends, or use her to get cheap laughs?
  • Do you wait on her patiently or rush her along to the next thing?
  • Do you go to work to provide for her needs, or do you work to fund your hobbies?
  • Do you receive her perspective, or do you always have to get in the last word?
  • Do you pray for her growth, or pray for her to change in ways that suit you?
  • Do you make time for her because she matters, or because you are avoiding guilt?
  • Do you protect her heart, or just protect your image as a “good husband.”
  • Do you apologize to make peace or just to end the argument?
  • Do you forgive and move on or do you keep a score of wrongdoings for ammunition later?
